A while back, Magaly began a series of Camp Cute, Creepy and (Quite Conveniently) Remote tales. She based some of her characters on sinister little girls created by her artist and doll making buddies. My little vampire dolly, Drusilla, was one of Magaly's creepy campers.
My original Drusilla had already been adopted, so I decided to make Magaly her very own Drusilla, and she is being unveiled here for the first time. Magaly envisioned Drusilla as a 13 year old, so I made some changes in order to make this dolly look a tad more mature. Drusilla will soon be boarding a plane to go and... um... "live" with Magaly. Of course, we all know that vampires detest airplane journeys... all those time zones and pesky sunrises... so Drusilla will travel in a... er... "box"... in the cargo hold.

Being a member of the undead doesn't necessarily guarantee immortality. Occasionally a relative or two falls victim to an angry mob of villagers bearing torches and pitchforks, or to a tenacious vampire slayer. Fallen ancestors are always in the hearts and minds of the family though, and their unfortunate demises also serve as cautionary tales for overconfident little vampires.
Now, if you have a penchant for disquieting little girls then you will love Magaly's Camp Cute, Creepy and (Quite Conveniently) Remote stories. You can read them here, under Web Serials. And don't forget to check out the other posts for Witches in Fiction: Death Rites and Remembrances.
Drusilla is just darling! Stopping by from Witches in Fiction. http://lovelightandwine.blogspot.com/2015/10/death-rites-remembrance-witches-in.html
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Sarah! Looking forward to checking out your Witches in Fiction post!! :)
DeleteI absolutely love your shot of Drusilla posed before her family picture gallery. First laugh of the day goes to you! She is a very fetching lass, even if...noticeably pale. I wish her a safe journey to her new home, preserved from all garlic, holy water and sharp wooden objects.
ReplyDeleteThank you, hedgewitch! :D And yes, may Drusilla's journey most definitely be "garlic, holy water and sharp wooden objects" free!! ;D
DeleteDrusilla 2.0 is just too, too cute! She'll be adored in her new home I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteHa! "Drusilla 2.0" is just what my son has been calling her! Thank you, Rommy!!
DeleteShe's adorable! Too bad about her relatives.
ReplyDeleteHaha. Yes, we can't pick our family, can we?!! ;D Thank you, Debra She Who Seeks!
DeleteDrusilla is totally awesome! I bet Magaly is very happy with her--even inspired. The two pictures of Vlad the Impaler and Elizabeth Bathory in the background don't escape my notice either.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nightwind! I wasn't sure how many people would recognize Lizzy there... but I KNEW that you would!!! ;D
DeleteDrusilla is one stylish looking vampire. And every family has a few "skeletons" in the wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteAli @Fiendish Fancies
Thanks, Ali! And in Drusilla's case, she literally has some skeletons in the wardrobe!
DeleteMemorable Drusilla! Your kind heart is always remembered! xo
ReplyDeleteMagaly has breathed a life into her that I could never have imagined when I first made her, Debi! xo
DeleteI'm in love. I mean, I was in love for a long time--with what you had told me about our older Drusilla, but I didn't imagine her exactly like this. She is perfect: her eyes, her hair, her dress, her family pictures, and the shot of her at camp is priceless.
ReplyDeleteThank you sooo much, Emma. For creating such a wonderful post and for birthing a sister for Poesy. She is excited and waiting! ♥
I was nervous about unveiling her because we each imagine something a little different and I didn't want to disappoint you. Thank you for weaving Drusilla into your wonderful tales! She's baring her little fangs with joy at the idea of coming to "live" with you and Poesy!! ;D ❤
DeleteDrusilla is da bomb. Shame about her relatives but then you know how narrow minded towns folk can be.....tee hee. xoxo Oma Linda
ReplyDeleteThank you, Oma Linda! And yes, some folk can be dreadfully narrow-minded!! ;D
DeleteOh Emma, she is off to start a life in the Big Apple(?) such a tender age (although I believe she could be much older than her 13 year appearance gives), I am a fan of the stories that star Drusilla and the other creepy campers, and I can't help but think this little babe would make a great animated series as she dodges open flames and holy water fonts ;) love her smile, her hair, her 'cute as a button' eyes, well she is divine!!! Also gotta say the photos are picture perfect, you are so clever!!! Much love and cool post you talented girl xox
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shelle! ❤ I agree, Magaly's creepy campers would make an awesome animated series.
DeleteDrusilla is seriously adorable and I love her name.

DeleteOh my god, Drusilla is so pretty! You are so talented, Emma, and I still cherish my little Violet - who keeps me company when I craft :)
ReplyDeleteGood to see you out and about for a bit!
Thank you so much, Ms Misantropia! ❤
DeleteIt's been a crazy year, and I've been missing everyone in Blogland!
Oh, she is going to love living with Magaly! She is so wonderful! We need Magaly to write more characters for the camp!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon! Yes, we definitely need more of Magaly's camp stories!!
DeleteShe's just precious, Emma - on her way to summer camp! That's quite the prestigious family tree she hails from. LOL
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lynne!! Yes, Drusilla has a fang-tastic pedigree!! ;D
DeleteTeen Drusilla looks like a real hand full lol Magaly is certainly going to know when she arrives. Fabulous :D XXX
ReplyDeleteHaha. Yes, teenagers are difficult enough, but teenage vampires... ;D Thank you, Gina!
DeleteOMG! So creepy cute!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, MK!! :D
DeleteAh, Drusilla. You know it's Halloween when she starts peeking through the blogs at us, So glad to see her again this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ben! 'Tis the season!! ;D
DeleteShe is glorious!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment. I know what you mean about this blogfest. I cried my eyes out. It was without a doubt the most emotional thing I have ever experienced in blogland.
Thank you so much, greekwitch! :)
DeleteYes, I was sobbing all morning as I read through the posts. (My cat was starting to wonder what on earth was wrong with me!) The tributes to lost loved ones were so moving and beautiful!
Oh Darling Drusilla has me dreaming of red and black couture for sure. We fell in love with button eyed dolls since Coraline.
ReplyDeleteShe's completely gorgeous, and the perfect colours for Magaly, too ♥
ReplyDeleteDrusilla (the teenager) is adorably scary. Oh those red eyes! And the hint of fangs.
ReplyDeleteI think you'd best wrap a chain around her traveling case, just to be extra careful.
She looks mischievious and if there are any teenage boys on the same flight, they may try to take her home.
We hope that you and yours had a wonderful Halloween, dear Lady Emma....
ReplyDeleteEmma!! Love!!!!! She is so cute! I know she will be well protected with Magaly :) Big Hugs :)
ReplyDeleteA Merry Night of the Krampus (and feast of St. Nick tomorrow)....
ReplyDeleteHope that you and yours are well dear Lady Emma....
